Montreal Road is the main street that runs through the popular and historically French-speaking neighborhood of Ottawa called Vanier.
On the Road to Montreal is also a musical creation by saxophonist Jean Cloutier, originally from Hull who has lived in Vanier (Ottawa) for over forty years.
This musical piece is the first step towards the release of his third EP. Well-paced jazz, both modern and eloquent, supported in the studio by an outstanding team of experienced musicians: Dominique Saint-Pierre on piano, production and arrangements, Normand Glaude on bass, sound recording and mixing, Charles Gay on drums, André Massicotte on trumpet, Peter Turner on trombone, Keith Walton on tuba and Don Cummings on Hammond organ. Music well anchored in the community, an ode to the Vanier neighborhood.
A video was produced by Jean-Michel Ouimet (Klash Média), camera on the shoulder and strolling along Montreal Road, to illustrate its color. Today, this neighborhood is still evolving and welcomes new arrivals of varied ethnic origins to whom a place is generously given up. There are two ways to go around the world, Jean Cloutier tells us. “Go with a backpack and discover it or sit on your front porch in Vanier and watch the whole world go by. »
The Montreal Road is obviously the road that leads to Montreal and for many French-speaking artists, a nod to the prospect of being recognized in Montreal.
