Twenty years after the release of the first volume in 2006, the nine books in the popular Le Journal d’Aurélie Laflamme series are reissued in a new collection. Illustrator Josée Tellier, to whom we owe the original covers, completely redesigned them for the occasion.

The first four volumes of this brand new edition, offered in an attractive format with stylized covers and larger dimensions, will be available from May 13. The next five will appear in the coming months. A special collection that will please both nostalgic fans and a new generation! Remember that this work by India Desjardins, a phenomenal success for Quebec publishing, has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide and translated into five languages. Two film adaptations were also made in 2010 and 2015.

“In 2006, when I launched the first two volumes, I never thought that people would still be talking to me about them in 2026. I like to say that they are “period novels”. I left all the cultural references as is (or almost!) in the reissues, even if some seem dated. This allows us to see that adolescent emotions always remain the same, despite the passage of time.

Through this series, I wanted to show young people in their complexity, their daily lives, their contradictions, their interpersonal relationships and also, above all, through what was important to them. It touches me to see that Aurélie has lived through two decades and that the public continues to identify with her. »- India Desjardins, author

The series of novels Le journal d’Aurélie Laflamme is the coming of age, both comical and touching, of a teenager who feels like an alien and is looking for her place in the universe. Having lost her father at the age of nine, Aurélie must deal with this mourning, in addition to all the moods specific to adolescence. From her difficulties at school to her mother’s obsession with cleaning, through her tested friendships and the meeting of a boy who upsets her, Aurélie escapes from this whirlwind of emotions which invade her thanks to her overflowing imagination and the reflections she writes in her diary.
