VILLENEUVE: THE RISE OF A LEGEND will make its world premiere at the closing gala of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival next September. Selected in the Gala section of the largest film festival in North America, the film about the rise of Gilles Villeneuve will be shown in Quebec cinemas on November 11. “It is a privilege to launch the film at the Toronto Film Festival and present it to an international audience. Gilles Villeneuve is a significant figure from Quebec whose legacy continues to resonate in the four corners of the world,” underline Christian Larouche and Tim Ringuette, respectively producer and associate producer of the film, as well as co-distributors. “The fact that the festival team describes our film as inspiring motivates us all the more to make it a real event film that will make Quebecers proud, not only of our cinema, but also of this great character in our history. »

Directed by Yan Lanouette Turgeon from a screenplay by Daniel Roby and Guillaume Lonergan, VILLENEUVE: THE RISE OF A LEGEND is produced by Christian Larouche, surrounded by Marc Côté as co-producer, Christian Simoneau, Melanie Villeneuve and Fabrice Barillet as executive producers, while Tim Ringuette acts as associate producer.

The film stars Rémi Goulet in the title role of the late racing driver, while Rosalie Bonenfant plays Joann Villeneuve alongside a cast including Patrice Robitaille, Anick Lemay, Luc Picard, Fabien Cloutier, Hubert Proulx and Étienne Galloy.
