This Saturday, October 17, the Montreal public will meet an emblematic figure of Algerian musical heritage: Houria Aïchi. Behind this exceptional event is Karima Bougherara, founder of the production company Gosbat Music.
For the organizer, this project resonates as a return to basics. “She’s a singer that I’ve been listening to since I was very young thanks to my father,” she confides with emotion. Sharing the same Chaouie culture as the artist, Karima Bougherara sees in this music the very essence of her region of origin. The opportunity to celebrate the diva’s 40-year career in Montreal became obvious, a project brought to fruition with the help of musician Ptit Moh.

It has been 14 years since the ambassador of the songs of Aurès last graced the Montreal stage. That evening, she brought back with her rihet el bled (the flavor of the country) through poetic texts and a masterful stage presence, despite a slight loss of voice caused by the cold air of the Metropolis.
This memorable concert ends the year in style for Gosbat Music, which had already made an impression a few months earlier with the Wari Nichen show. Karima Bougherara does not intend to stop there and is already working on a rich program for the year 2027.
